Overview
DevQuery 2.0 was created to enable developers to access any external website they desire while in an
environment that stops them from doing so normally.
Details
DevQuery 2.0 worked similarly to the Original
DevQuery, but its input was an entire URL as opposed to a StackOverflow thread ID. The rest of
the process, however, was similar: the request was sent to a server, which would download the requested
page and send it back to the client (for download too). DevQuery 2.0's client program would then
automatically open the file in the default browser to be viewed by the user (just seconds after starting
the request).
Strengths/Drawbacks
2.0 was not limited to just StackOverflow like its predecessor, however it raised some concerns about
the lack of limitations with the access it gave.
Creation
DevQuery 2.0 was made - like the Original DevQuery -
on the 16th March 2024. The inspiration for an updated system struck @ 14:50, eventually reaching a
point of beta
completion, revealed to the public on the 16th @ 15:38.
Predecessor and Successor
The Original DevQuery was replaced by this new
system, 2.0, on the 16th March 2024. More
information on the Original DevQuery can be found by clicking the link above.
DevQuery 2.0 was followed by DevQuery 3.0 on the 21st of
May 2024. More information on that can be found by clicking the link above.
Future
We are disappointed to tell you that there is no future of DevQuery 2.0. On the [UNKNOWN DATE],
DevQuery 2.0 was removed from public access due to a concern about potential rule-breaking.
